The Central Government approved the 11.56 km extension of Noida Metro from Sector-142 to Botanical Garden. 8 new stations will be built and the network will reach 61.62 km. Delhi connectivity will be better, traffic jams will be reduced and travel time will be reduced.

A major infrastructure initiative has got the green signal amid the rapidly changing urban landscape in the National Capital Region. The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the 11.56 km long elevated extension corridor of Noida Metro Rail Project from Sector-142 to Botanical Garden. A total of 8 stations are proposed in this corridor. After the start of operations, the length of the active metro network in Noida and Greater Noida will increase to 61.62 kilometers.

This decision has come at a time when industrial investment, IT parks and residential townships are expanding rapidly in Uttar Pradesh. Urban experts are considering this as a decisive step towards strengthening public transport.

Direct interchange with Delhi Metro, reduction in travel time

The new corridor will run directly from Sector-142 to Botanical Garden, where there is interchange facility with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s Blue Line and Magenta Line. This will provide direct connectivity to the major transit hubs of Delhi to lakhs of passengers of Noida and Greater Noida.
