Visakhapatnam: A woman was lured into an AC coach and raped, while she was aboard Visakha Express, Tv9 Telugu reported.
According to reports, the woman and her husband from Rentachintala in Palnadu district had been residing in Visakhapatnam for employment.
This incident occurred on Sunday, April 26, when the couple were traveling from Visakhapatnam to Nadikudi. It came to light on Tuesday when the victim filed a complaint with the Rentachintala police.
The couple boarded the general coach of the Visakha Express to travel to their native village but an unidentified individual lured the woman to the AC coach, claiming that there was an empty seat, the police said.
The victim was shifted to the Macherla Government Hospital for medical examinations. The police stated that they have expedited the investigation with the assistance of the Railway Police to identify the accused.
