Bomb scare on Kolkata -Shillong IndiGo flight, aircraft moved to isolation bay

New Delhi: A Shillong bound IndiGo aircraft suffered a bomb threat on Saturday morning at the Kolkata Airport. Authorities at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in the city said that the bomb threat was received at around 9:15 am in the morning as the aircraft was preparing for takeoff to Shillong.

The plane was immediately evacuated and passengers moved back inside the terminal building. The aircraft was then taken to the isolation bay for checks.

Statement from Airport Director

The Director of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata was quoted by the Times of India as saying, “Bomb scare in Kolkata to Shillong IndiGo 6E3074, which was scheduled to depart at 9:15 am, from Kolkata Airport. The aircraft has been moved to the isolation bay. During boarding, crew members found a piece of paper inside the aircraft’s toilet compartment, which stated that there was a bomb inside the aircraft. Immediately afterwards, passengers were removed from the aircraft.”

The Director said that as of now the checking of the aircraft was on.
