Chief Minister Village Industries Employment Scheme 2026-27: Target of 800 new units
The Khadi and Village Industries Department has set a target of setting up 800 new units in the year 2026-27 under the Chief Minister Village Industries Employment Scheme. About 16,000 people are likely to get self-employment through this initiative. The main objective of this scheme is to help rural youth to establish small and cottage industries through bank loans. The department has set a target of arranging bank loan of about Rs 40 crore for this.
Under the scheme, the youth are given not only loans but also training and other necessary help related to starting a business. This will increase employment at the local level in rural areas and will help in reducing migration of youth to cities.
Pandit Deendayal Gramodyog Rojgar Yojana: Financial support to established units
A provision of Rs 10 crore has been made for the Pandit Deendayal Gramodyog Rozgar Yojana in the financial year 2026-27. This scheme provides interest subsidy on bank loans to strengthen the already running rural enterprise units. This will reduce the financial burden of entrepreneurs and make it easier to continue and expand their business. The objective of the scheme is to provide stability to rural industries and encourage new investments.
Promotion of rural industries, ODOP and self-employment
These schemes also encourage industries linked to initiatives like Pradhan Mantri Gram Swarozgar Yojana and “One District One Product”. This provides better market opportunities to traditional products, handicrafts and local industries. The government believes that these steps will give a new direction to self-reliance, entrepreneurship and economic development in rural areas. Besides, these schemes can also play an important role in achieving the goal of developed Uttar Pradesh 2047.
