Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan expressed his strong belief that Tahir Hussain’s conviction in the Delhi riots case is not the last chapter of the legal battle. Speaking to ANI on Sunday, the AAP MLA stressed that there are further legal avenues open in the judicial process, adding, “That is where there is hope for justice.” “This decision has come from the Sessions Court, and hopefully an appeal will be filed in the High Court, where there is hope for justice,” he said.

Tahir Hussain found guilty in Ankit Sharma murder case

Delhi’s Karkardooma Court on Monday convicted former AAP councilor Tahir Hussain and four others in the murder of Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer Ankit Sharma during the 2020 north-east Delhi riots. After hearing the verdict, former AAP councilor Tahir Hussain cried in the court itself.

Ankit Sharma was murdered in February 2020 during the North East Delhi riots. His body was recovered from a drain. Former MCD councilor Tahir Hussain and 10 others are accused in this case. An FIR was registered at Dayalpur police station on the complaint of Ankit Sharma’s father.

Additional Sessions Judge Parveen Singh convicted Tahir Hussain, Nazim, Kashim, Javed and Anas for rioting, unlawful assembly and other offences. He has been acquitted of criminal conspiracy charges. Tahir Hussain has been convicted of the crime of promoting enmity between two communities.

Six accused acquitted of all charges

The court has acquitted six accused – Haseen alias Mullaji alias Salman, Firoz, Gulfam, Shoaib Alam alias Bobby and Muntajim alias Musa and Sameer of all charges. (ANI)
