Tamil superstar Vijay’s most awaited film ‘Jana Nayagan’ is in the news even before its release. According to reports, after becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, a major change has been made in the title slate of the film and now he can be introduced as ‘The Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu C Joseph Vijay’. At the same time, before its release in India, CBFC has given instructions to make about 12 changes while giving A certificate to the film. These include modifications to dialogues, visuals and some political references. However, the makers have not officially confirmed these changes.
What changed in the Jan Nyagan title slate?
According to reports, the initial title slate of the film will now feature Vijay as ‘The Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu C Joseph Vijay’. This means that his new political identity may get priority in place of ‘Thalapati Vijay’. The Censor Board has given instructions to make 12 changes in the film before its release in India. According to reports, some abusive words were muted, mention of ‘New India’ was removed, a scene related to the Indian Tricolor was changed and several dialogues were changed.

What was the reason given for removing the name TVK?
According to reports, Vijay’s character was named Thalapathy Vetri Kondan (TVK). CBFC directed to remove the word TVK from both audio and visuals. Also, the part ‘…TVK law’ present in a dialogue was also changed.

What will be the difference between UK release and India release of ‘Jana Nayagan’?
It is being told that in UK the film will be released without Indian censor cuts, while in India the same version will be shown, which will include the changes suggested by CBFC. The UK release is said to be set for July 24, while the India release date is yet to be officially announced. ‘Jana Nayagan’, directed by H. Vinod, stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamita Baiju, Gautam Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj and Narayan in important roles along with Vijay. According to reports, the runtime of the film is around 3 hours 3 minutes.
