Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2026: Date, time and what to expect from big reveal

New Delhi: Samsung has confirmed that its Galaxy Unpacked event is going to happen on February 25 in San Francisco. It will start at 11.30 p.m. IST and will be the first major smartphone launch of the company in 2026. At the event, Samsung is expected to unveil the next-generation Galaxy S lineup, widely believed to include the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Samsung, in its invitation, stated that the new Galaxy S is aimed at reducing the complexity of daily interactions and that Galaxy AI should feel like a part of them when the device begins use. The company said it was the start of a new era of AI in the company, in which intelligence is more personal, adaptable and in the user experience.

Galaxy unpacked 2026: What to expect

It is anticipated that the full line of Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will be launched on February 25 in addition to the regular Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+. Although hardware specifications are still unknown, more updated Galaxy AI functionality and closer software interconnection across the ecosystem are likely to be the main focus of Samsung.

The company could also feature some new accessories, which could include the next generation of Galaxy Buds, according to industry reports. It will be broadcast on the Samsung official website, Samsung Newsroom India, and the YouTube channel of Samsung.

Pre-orders and storage changes

Pre-orders will be made available soon after the launch event, perhaps beginning February 26. Samsung can pursue a progressive geographical launch. According to European retail, the company might discontinue the 128GB base storage option this year, leaving 256GB as the new base storage option in the Galaxy S26 line.

In the past years, Samsung has come up with the double storage promotion on pre-orders. Such offers may not be possible in 2026, though, due to increased component costs. The trade-in bonuses and online service subscriptions are also likely to be continued.

One UI 8.5 and software focus

Every Galaxy S26 is also supposed to be released with One UI 8.5, the latest Android-based software by Samsung. The update is now at the beta stage and will probably be released to older Galaxy S devices later this year. There may still be some hardware specifications that will be unique to the S26 Ultra.

The new Galaxy S series is an important pillar that Samsung is playing as part of its wider AI strategy. The company has focused on the minimisation of friction when using smartphones daily and the enhancement of personalisation.
