Badaun Murder Case: In Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, a husband killed his wife due to alleged illicit relationship and kept her body hidden in a water tank for several days. Later the bodies were burnt and the remains were thrown into the river.
A case that puts relations to shame has come to light from Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh. Here a young man is accused of murdering his wife. According to the police, the accused husband considered his wife an obstacle in his alleged love affair. For this reason, he along with two relatives committed the crime. After the murder, the body was kept hidden in the water tank of the house for several days and later, to destroy the evidence, it was cremated and the ashes were thrown into the river. After scientific investigation and continuous interrogation, the police has revealed the matter.
Called his wife an ‘obstacle in the way’, then hatched a conspiracy to murder him.
According to police, 26-year-old Satyawati Yadav was allegedly strangled to death on the night of June 1 and 2. After this, husband Jai Singh Yadav lodged a complaint about his wife’s disappearance, so that no one suspects him. During investigation, the police found the husband’s activities suspicious. On the basis of interrogation and evidence collected, it came to light that the accused considered his wife an obstacle in his alleged love affair. For this reason, he along with two relatives conspired to commit murder.

Police investigation revealed that after the murder, the accused kept the body hidden in the water tank of the house for several days. Later, he was taken to the crematorium, burnt and his remains were thrown into the river Sot to erase his identity. During the investigation, the police have recovered many important evidences including broken bangles, anklets, toe rings, vermilion, clothes, scarf, shovel, trowel, bucket, mobile phone and the bike used in the crime. This scientific evidence revealed the layers of the entire matter.
Three accused arrested, search for two continues
In this case, apart from husband Jai Singh Yadav, police have arrested Rambhan Yadav and Chandele Yadav alias Jhakad and sent them to judicial custody. Meanwhile, the search for two other accused Sarvesh Yadav and Vijay Yadav alias Chhote is going on. Police also said that on the night of the murder, the accused’s brother Chandrabhan had allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself out of guilt. Sections related to destruction of evidence have also been added in this case.
At present, the police is busy searching for the absconding accused and a detailed investigation of the entire case is going on. This incident once again shows how domestic disputes and alleged illicit relations can lead to horrific crimes.
