A case of serious allegations and counter-allegations has come to light between a female sub-inspector and her husband in Hapur. Gulshan, a resident of Mohalla Ganeshpura of the district, has met Hapur SP Kunwar Gyananjay Singh and complained against his wife Payal Rani. Gulshan alleges that he had a court marriage with Payal, fully supported her in her studies and supported her in every way till she became a sub-inspector, but as soon as he got the job, his wife implicated him and his family in a dowry case.

According to Gulshan, he and Payal were in a relationship since 2016. Both studied together and had a court marriage in the year 2021. Later, with the consent of the family, a social marriage also took place on 2 December 2022.

Gulshan claims that Payal stayed at her house and studied and also helped her financially. After Payal became Inspector, distance started growing in the relationship and then a case of dowry harassment was filed.

At the same time, female sub-inspector Payal Rani posted in Bareilly has filed a case against six people of her in-laws including her husband Gulshan at Hapur Nagar Kotwali on 13 November 2025 on serious charges like dowry harassment, assault and threatening to attack with acid. Payal alleges that after marriage, Rs 10 lakh in cash and a car was demanded from her. When their demands were not met, they were tortured.

On this entire matter, Hapur SP Kunwar Gyananjay Singh said that complaints from both the parties have come forward and the matter is being investigated impartially. The accused are being interrogated and further action will be taken based on all the facts.
