According to the information, the car was moving at high speed towards Warehouse Road at around 7:30 am on Sunday morning. In front of Sanjeevani Hospital, the driver while driving carelessly hit the scooter coming from the front. The collision was so severe that the student riding the scooter jumped several feet and fell on the road.

The car driver could not control the vehicle and after a few seconds it collided with a school mini bus passing in front. The front part of the bus was damaged in the accident, but it is a matter of relief that no one traveling in the bus was seriously injured.

Died in hospital, driver absconded from the spot

After the accident, the people present nearby immediately took the injured student to SIMS Hospital. He was identified as Rudra Pratap Sharma, 16, resident of Mangla. When his condition became critical, he was referred to Apollo Hospital, but he died during treatment.

According to eyewitnesses, immediately after the accident, the car driver and other people present with him left the vehicle and fled from the spot. As soon as the information was received, Civil Line police station reached the spot, seized the damaged car and started investigation.

There is a possibility of a minor driving a vehicle, identification will be done through CCTV

Local people claim that a minor was driving the car at the time of the accident. However, the police have not yet officially confirmed it. Police say that the driver is being identified on the basis of CCTV footage, eyewitness statements and vehicle documents.

If the investigation proves that the vehicle was being driven by a minor, then strict action will be taken against the vehicle owner and those responsible under the Motor Vehicles Act along with other relevant sections.
