Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a security review meeting on Naxalism in Raipur. He said that the security strategy and development work have yielded positive results and the country will be completely Naxal-free before March 31, 2026.

Raipur. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah today chaired an important security review meeting on Left Wing Extremism (Naxalism) in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. Along with this, he also reviewed various development works going on in Chhattisgarh.

Senior officials of the Center and states were present in the high level meeting.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Union Home Secretary, Director of Intelligence Bureau (IB), Special Secretary (Internal Security) of the Home Ministry, Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh and many senior officials were present in these meetings. Apart from this, Director General of CRPF, NIA, BSF, ITBP and Home Secretary and Director General of Police of Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Jharkhand, Odisha and Maharashtra also attended the meeting.

Positive results obtained from security focused strategy and surrender policy

Addressing the meeting, Home Minister Amit Shah said that the security-centric strategy of the Central and Chhattisgarh governments, better infrastructure, strict action on Naxal financial network and surrender policy have yielded positive results. He expressed confidence that Naxalism is on the way to be completely eradicated in Chhattisgarh before March 31.

The Home Minister said that Chhattisgarh was once considered a bastion of Naxalite violence, but due to the double engine government running under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, today the state has become synonymous with development. He said that the youth of Chhattisgarh are progressing in the field of sports, forensic science and technical education and at the same time are preserving their culture and traditions.

The country will be completely Naxal-free before 31 March 2026

Shri Amit Shah said that the double engine government is fully committed to root out the problem of Maoism from the country. He said that during the tenure of Modi government, Naxalism has now reached the verge of end and the country will become completely Naxal-free before March 31, 2026. The Home Minister said that Naxalism pushed many generations into the darkness of poverty and illiteracy, but now the country is soon going to be completely free from this problem.

Coordination of states and agencies is necessary in the fight against Maoism

The Home Minister said that the ongoing fight against Maoists should not be scattered. He stressed on better coordination between various states and central security agencies and said that the remaining Maoists should not be allowed to escape to any other state.

Ensure equal opportunities for development in Naxal affected areas

Shri Amit Shah said that Chhattisgarh has made remarkable progress on both security and development fronts. He directed that it should be ensured that the people of Naxal affected areas get equal opportunities for development and can join the mainstream.
