England Test Team Coach: The post of coach of the England Test team is vacant after the departure of Brendon McCullum. The big question is who will take that place? There is said to be a long list of claimants regarding this. It is also being said that ECB has also talked to former Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin for the Test coach. Rahul Dravid’s name is also in the list of contenders given by The Telegraph in its report. At the same time, there is a lot of discussion on social media about Ravi Shastri becoming the Test coach of England. But can this really happen? Are these three legends of Indian cricket really in the race to become the Test coach of England? Let us look at all the possibilities one by one and the reports regarding them.

How much strength is there in Ashwin’s claim?

First of all, let’s talk about Ravichandran Ashwin, whose news of becoming England’s Test coach came into limelight when CricCrazyJohns wrote about him on his X account and also called him exclusive. CricCrazyJohns wrote in the post that Ashwin is in the race to become the coach of England in red ball cricket. Quoting sources, he also wrote that some meetings have been held in the US recently regarding this.

However, what John wrote could not be read or heard on any main stream media site. The English newspaper The Telegraph also did not mention Ashwin in the list of contenders given in its report. In such a situation, just looking at unverified social media posts, it would not be correct to say that Ashwin is in the race to become the Test coach of England.

Talks about Ravi Shastri only on social media

There is discussion only on social media about Ravi Shastri being made the Test coach of England. His name is not even mentioned in the reports of any big media house or any big newspaper of England. This has also been written on social media quoting the report. But there is no mention of whose report it is and how accurate it is. In such a situation, the fact that Shastri, the former head coach of Team India, is in the race for England’s Test coach also does not seem to be digested.

The Telegraph called Dravid a contender, but…

However, the name of Rahul Dravid has been kept in the list of contenders published by the English newspaper The Telegraph in its report. But in the same report it has also been said that Dravid has not expressed his intention for full time coaching. Meaning, Dravid may certainly be a contender but it is difficult to say whether he will take the responsibility of England’s Test coach.
