Agartala (Tripura) [भारत]July 12 (ANI): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Sunday said the state government is working to modernize government hospitals and develop an integrated health system in Tripura. Saha said this while inaugurating the 50-bed Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Agartala Civil Hospital in Agartala city. He said that today Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Civil Hospital was inaugurated and dedicated to the public, which is a happy day.
The CM said, “We have started this as a pilot project. We have seen how the condition of government hospitals was, with broken chairs, tables and other facilities, and now we have come out of such a situation. After our government came to power, we are working for the modernization of government hospitals. We are not saying that it is 100% completed, but we are working in this direction. A new chapter in terms of health facilities. It has begun.”
These modern facilities will be available in the hospital
Saha said that in the coming days, the government will work to provide everything from doctors to ambulance services to all hospitals across the state, so that people can get all the health facilities.
The CM said, “We are working on an integrated health system in Tripura. This hospital will be paperless. Poor people also deserve better healthcare and better services, and keeping this in mind we have established this hospital with all the modern technologies. Because of this hospital, people of the city do not need to run anywhere in case of emergency. Here, we have facilities for minor surgery, general surgery, OPD for ENT, medicine and gynecology as well as mother and child care facilities. Are.”
He further said, “There are 50 beds with oxygen facilities, and an oxygen plant has also been set up. Ambulance services have also been arranged. People of Agartala city can avail treatment here. If it is successful, we will open such hospitals in all municipalities and nagar panchayat areas. In this plant, we have also set up an Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP). The 50-bed hospital, built at a cost of Rs 20.37 crore, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Agartala Civil Hospital is being inaugurated today.”
Major reforms in health sector
Saha also said that the government has stressed the importance of an integrated health system in Tripura. “If we can implement e-office in three-tier panchayats, why not in the health sector? Nowadays, every single treatment facility is available in Tripura, and that is why referral cases have declined by 83%. We are opening a mother and child hospital. Not only in Agartala, but we are doing this in all the districts as well. Seven kidney transplants have been successfully done in Tripura, and two more will happen soon. We are planning heart and liver transplants We are working on the matter,” he added.
