According to mythology, Shani Dev was a great devotee of Shri Krishna. He was always immersed in the devotion of Shri Krishna. Despite all the efforts of his wife, Shani Dev did not pay attention to him.
Seeing Shani Dev ignoring herself, his wife became angry and cursed her own husband. He cursed Shani Dev and said that any creature who sees you will have to face difficulties and troubles in life. It is believed that since then the sight of Shani Dev is considered a cause of fear. Shani Dev is not directly visible, hence his statue or picture is not kept in the house.
Keeping the idol of Shani Dev in the house is inauspicious
According to the scriptures and Puranas, keeping an idol, picture or instrument of Shani Dev in the home temple is considered inauspicious. According to mythology and astrological beliefs, if an idol or picture of Shani Dev is kept in the home temple, it causes bad omen and financial loss. Discord and quarrels increase in the family.
