Mumbai (Maharashtra) [भारत]July 12 (ANI): High tide was seen at Marine Drive in Mumbai on Sunday as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in many parts of the country.
Heavy rain forecast in these parts of the country
The IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya, Bihar and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on July 12. There is also a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, East Uttar Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Jharkhand, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha, Punjab and Uttarakhand.
Warning of storm and strong winds
The weather agency has warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in eastern Uttar Pradesh, while heavy rainfall is expected over Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand and northern parts of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. There is a possibility of thunderstorm with lightning and strong winds at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand and East Uttar Pradesh.
IMD has also predicted strong winds with speed of 40-60 km per hour at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Strong winds with speed reaching 40-50 kmph and lightning are likely to occur over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, East Madhya Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Jharkhand.
Gale with gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph and lightning is likely over Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha and West Madhya Pradesh, while lightning is predicted over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Bihar, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and Uttarakhand.

Alert regarding Arabian Sea also
Over the Arabian Sea, strong winds with speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph are likely over some parts of central and adjoining North Arabian Sea, some parts of North Gujarat coast along Northeast Arabian Sea, Somalia and Oman coasts along Southwest Arabian Sea. (ANI)
