Just before the T20 World Cup 2026, the West Indies team has suffered a big setback. His team’s star batsman Shimron Hetmyer is stuck in South Africa due to visa related problem and is not able to join his team in India. Let us tell you, West Indies has to play its first match against Scotland on 7 February. But Hetmyer is still stuck in Johannesburg. Cricket West Indies (CWI) has also issued a statement saying that ‘this matter will be resolved soon’, but time is passing fast and concern is increasing in the team camp and among the fans.
The rest of the West Indies team is already in match mode. After facing defeat in the warm-up match against Afghanistan on Wednesday, he is now preparing for the next match. But Hetmyer’s absence is a big loss for the team. Hetmyer recently performed brilliantly in the three-match T20 series against South Africa. He scored the maximum of 171 runs in the series, in which his best score was 75 runs.
