The excavation of Rakhigarhi has surprised historians and scientists. About 60 human skeletons were found together here, DNA testing of which revealed that this civilization is about 5.5 to 6 thousand years old. During excavations, ancient scripts written on soil and stones, houses made of baked bricks and a very advanced drainage system have been found. This evidence shows that the people of that period were far ahead of their time in terms of town planning and cleanliness.
Of the nine mounds spread over about 550 hectares, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is currently actively researching and excavating five mounds, with each layer revealing a new chapter of history.
