Rahul Gandhi vs Rajnath Singh in Parliament over ex-Army chief’s unpublished memoir on Doklam stand-off

New Delhi: Parliament witnessed a huge ruckus on Monday as the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Defence Minister Rajnaath had a heated exchange during the Budget session. Gandhi raised China issue, quoting former Army chief MM Naravane’s unpublished memoir in the Lok Sabha.

Speaking in Parliament, Gandhi said, “A young colleague made an allegation on the Congress party and our patriotism and understanding of Indian culture. I want to talk about it.”

Rajnath Singh objected to Gandhi quoting from an unpublished book in the Lok Sabha, saying it is against the rules of the House. Gandhi stated that his source is authentic and includes quotes from the unpublished memoirs of a former Army chief (Gen MM Naravane). Union Home Minister Amit Shah also interjected the Congress leader.
