Team India has made its preparations for the T20 World Cup 2026 and will soon return to the field. But a different Indian team will field in the practice match to be played before the start of the tournament, which has been announced. BCCI has announced the India-A squad for the warm-up match to be played before the World Cup, the command of which has been handed over to Delhi all-rounder Ayush Badoni. This squad also includes batsman Tilak Verma, who was selected for the World Cup, who is returning to cricket action after about a month.
Keep an eye on Tilak-Ryan
From Monday 2nd February t20 world cup 2026 Warm-up matches are starting. In these, the Indian team has 3 practice matches but the squad selected for the World Cup will be fielded for only one practice match. It was already decided that India-A would be selected for the other two matches. Now BCCI has announced this squad. The most special thing in this is the selection of the captain because the team also has players like Tilak Verma and Riyan Parag, who have played for Team India but the captaincy has been handed over to Badoni.

However, all eyes will be on Tilak Verma during this time because he is returning to the field again after about a month. He had undergone an operation only last month, due to which he could not play in the T20 series against New Zealand. But now he has returned fit. However, he will be with the team only for the first match and then will join Team India, where he will play the second practice match. Apart from them, attention will also be kept on Riyan Parag, who himself is making a comeback after recovering from a shoulder injury. Considering the concern over Washington Sundar’s fitness, Parag has a chance to present his claim.
This stormy pacer also returns
A special name in this squad is that of fast bowler Mayank Yadav. This young pacer from Delhi, who attracted attention with his stormy pace in the IPL, has had to struggle with injuries continuously, due to which he has not been able to play even a single IPL season, while he has not taken the field even in the domestic tournament. In such a situation, these two matches will be very important for them.
Talking about the matches, India A’s first match will be against USA on 2nd February, while the next match will be against Namibia on 6th February. The World Cup squad will warm-up with the match against South Africa on 4 February.
