What is the history of this mansion
This is the story of Guman Chand Patwa, who was a businessman. He had 5 sons who wanted to do business in Jaisalmer. He met the priest of a Jain temple when he failed. He advised the Patwa brothers to leave Jaisalmer. The five brothers accepted the advice. After this, their banking and gold and silver business increased rapidly. Seeing the growing business of the brothers, they were called to compensate for the state deficit. Because of this, he returned to Jaisalmer. Then Guman Chand Patwa made one mansion each for his five sons.
Why is it called Kothari’s Patwa Haveli?
Guman Chand Patwa made a mansion for his dear sons, but the fate of sons did not write in Jaisalmer. Business started declining. Despite not wanting, he had to leave the city again. Over time, the owners themselves became the keepers of the mansion. He spoke to Shri Jeevan Lal Kothari to sell the mansion. They also agreed. After this, this mansion was named Kothari’s Patwa Haveli.
