Politics is in full swing in West Bengal regarding the Waqf Act. Opposition parties have become attacked by state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee after some people were killed in violence during the protest against Waqf. Senior Congress leader and former MP Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary has asked CM Mamta to visit the communal violence affected district immediately and meet the affected families. Also asked the question whether these places have become untouchable for them?
Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary also asked Mamta on Tuesday that the Trinamool Congress chief who had sent teams of MPs and MLAs in Hathras and Manipur in Uttar Pradesh, why did not send anyone to the affected areas of Murshidabad till now, including Samserganj and Jangipur areas.
Former Lok Sabha MP from Barahampur, Chaudhary said, “CM should immediately visit the violence affected areas of Murshidabad district. Inauguration of the skywalk in Kolkata has become the priority of the Chief Minister, not to know the suffering of the people. He should visit Murshidabad to see the situation and talk to the affected people.” CM Mamta inaugurated a skywalk at the Kalighat temple on Sunday 2 days ago.
Why didn’t anyone send anyone there: Chaudhary
The former Congress leader in the Lok Sabha said, “You like to go to places. But you come here… You cannot escape by blaming others.” She further said, “She (Mamta) sends her MPs and MLAs to places like Hathras and Manipur, then why is she not sending anyone to Samserganj and Jangipur? Is these places become untouchables for them? Why can they not be sent here?”
Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, who lost to TMC candidate Yusuf Pathan in the Lok Sabha elections last year, attacked the ruling TMC, saying, “Has your party members not got any vote from here? All the MPs and MLAs of Murshidabad district belong to your party. Why can’t we see them other than the riots?” He said that those who have been affected by violence are poor Hindu and Muslim families. ”
3 lives in violence, more than 200 arrested
Earlier, Chaudhary visited the Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital during the day and met the people injured in the firing during the protest against the Waqf (Amendment) Act. He claimed that the rioters had nothing to do with those who had planned a peaceful rally in protest against the new Act.
