The central government has taken a tough stand on the violence on the Waqf bill in Murshidabad district of West Bengal. So far, 15 companies of Central Force have reached Murshidabad. According to administrative sources, the state police and paramilitary forces are jointly campaigning in the affected areas of the district. A special team of state police is also monitoring those areas.
Meanwhile, many rumors are being spread about the violence and it has been decided to stop internet services in Murshidabad to prevent these rumors from spreading. Apart from Murshidabad, it has been decided to suspend Internet services in Malda and parts of Birbhum.
The state administration has said in an order that this decision has been taken to prevent rumors from spreading. Internet services will be suspended in those areas from Sunday to 15 April (Tuesday). The reason for the closure of internet services in Malda and Birbhum has been told that if no action is taken, rumors can also spread in the respective areas of these two districts. Therefore, it has been decided to stop internet services in some areas of Malda and Birbhum as a precaution.
Three killed in violence, dozens injured
Explain that at least three people died, many others were injured and many shops were set on fire due to violent protests against Waqf (Amendment) Act in Suti and Samasherganj blocks of Murshidabad district. A large number of people migrated from those areas after the violence started on Friday.

According to BSF sources, two companies of security forces are already deployed in Murshidabad. On Saturday, on the order of the Calcutta High Court, eight more companies of the army reached the district. After reviewing the overall situation on Sunday morning, it was decided to deploy five more companies of CRPF in Jangipur.
According to sources, BSF has given more emphasis on dealing with the situation in Dhulianpur area of Jangipur police district. More than 300 BSF personnel have been deployed in Dhulian alone. Two companies of central forces have been deployed in Farakka, Sati and Shamserganj areas to keep the national highway operational. Two more companies are marching in that area. Another company has been designed as ‘Accelerated Response Team’.

BSF sources said that if needed, five more companies of CRPF can be transported to Jangipur on Sunday night. The source said that the security forces are being brought to Murshidabad on an emergency basis, including security forces mainly from Jharkhand, Jamshedpur and Ranchi. On reaching additional force, the route march will continue in the affected areas as well as the surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose said on Sunday that he is constantly monitoring the situation with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and is in touch with him, while the central government is keeping a close watch on the situation in the violence affected Murshidabad district.

The governor clearly stated that the miscreants will be strictly dealt with and no one will be allowed to take laws in their hands. The central government is keeping a strict monitoring of the situation and is collecting reliable information from other authorities including BSF and police.
BSF DIG South Bengal Frontier Neelotpal Pandey said, “At present, eight companies of BSF are deployed in Jangipur. We are working with the state police in coordination. Our first goal is to restore people’s trust in the affected areas.” In any case, unrest will not be tolerated. “
