Is Giribala Singh’s arrest certain, now that CBI has reached his Bhopal home? Will WhatsApp chats and 7 injuries reveal big secrets in Twisha Sharma case? Is the cancellation of anticipatory bail by the High Court giving a new direction to the investigation? Will allegations of evidence tampering bring the former judge into legal trouble?
Twisha Sharma Case Update: There was a stir in the judicial and administrative corridors of Madhya Pradesh when on Thursday a special team of the country’s largest investigating agency (CBI) raided the luxurious bungalow of former judge Giribala Singh in Bhopal. The high-voltage drama began mere hours after the Madhya Pradesh High Court canceled his anticipatory bail in the case of the suspicious death of his daughter-in-law Twisha Sharma. High Court vacation judge Justice Devnarayan Mishra, in his stringent 17-page order, completely uprooted the shield of protection given to the former judge by the Sessions Court. As soon as the legal shield was removed, the speculation and suspense about the arrest of the former woman judge has reached its peak. Will a former judge have to go behind bars?
7 deep wounds and WhatsApp chats: Was Twisha suffocated behind closed doors?
- Twisha Sharma, the victim of this dreadful case, was originally a resident of Noida, who was married to Samarth Singh, lawyer son of a former judge, on December 19, 2025.
- Just a few months after the marriage, on May 12, Twisha’s body was found hanging in a closed room of her in-laws’ house in Bhopal.
The suspense and gruesomeness of this case increased when Advocate General of Madhya Pradesh Prashant Singh made shocking revelations before the High Court:
- AIIMS Bhopal report revealed: 7 serious pre-death injury marks (Antemortem Injuries) were found on Twisha’s body. According to forensic experts, these injuries could not have been caused while removing the body from the noose.
- Abortion bleeding pressure: It is alleged that after Twisha became pregnant, her husband and mother-in-law doubted her character and forced her to undergo abortion.
- Cruel WhatsApp Chats: The messages found from the deceased’s mobile clearly show how much mental and physical harassment she was being subjected to inside her in-laws’ house.

Playing with evidence and audacity of ‘press conference’: A judicial move by the former judge?
- In the court, the prosecution and lawyers of Twisha’s family made very serious and sensational allegations against former judge Giribala Singh.
- Lawyers claim that Giribala Singh, using his old judicial service experience and influence, not only tampered with the ‘crime scene’ but also tried to influence the evidence.
- The sensation spread further when it came to light that after cunningly obtaining anticipatory bail from the 10th Additional Sessions Judge of Bhopal on May 15, the former judge called a press conference.
- It is alleged that they made selected parts of the CCTV footage seized by the police viral on social media to tarnish the image of the deceased Twisha and mislead the public.
- The High Court took this manipulation and non-cooperation in the investigation very seriously.

That one order of the Supreme Court: And the influential family suffered in the clutches of CBI!
According to Prashant Singh, Advocate General of Madhya Pradesh High Court, “The High Court has canceled the bail considering the influence of the accused, the seriousness of the injuries and his continuous non-cooperation in the investigation. Now it is entirely up to the CBI to decide when and how they take this former judge into custody.” The legal turning point in this case came when the Supreme Court, seeing the proceedings entangled in several courts, directly ordered the CBI to take over the investigation. As soon as CBI received the case diary, it re-registered the FIR of Madhya Pradesh Police and came into action mode. Twisha’s husband Samarth Singh is already behind the bars on CBI remand and is revealing the pages of his crimes.
