Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai inaugurated Dumtarrai Wholesale Market Phase-2 of Raipur. The complex will be named after Sardar Patel and a 15 feet tall statue will also be installed.
Raipur. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai inaugurated the new wholesale market Phase-2 developed by Chhattisgarh Housing and Infrastructure Development Board located in Dumartarai, Raipur. On this occasion, he announced that this modern business complex will be named after the country’s iron man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Besides, his 15 feet high statue on the lines of the Statue of Unity will also be installed in the campus.
Permanent tribute will be paid to the contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel
The Chief Minister said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had laid the strong foundation of united India by unifying the princely states. To honor his incomparable contribution to nation building, this business complex is being named after him. He said that this step will always be a symbol of remembering his contribution towards the country.
Modern wholesale market will give a big boost to trade and employment
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that business and employment complement each other. Where modern business facilities are developed, investment increases, economic activities intensify and new employment opportunities are also created. He said that this modern wholesale market of Dumartarai will give a new impetus to the business not only of Raipur but of entire Chhattisgarh and will play an important role in strengthening the economy of the state.
Features of the state-of-the-art business complex developed over 36 acres
The Chief Minister said that this modern wholesale market, developed in an area of about 36 acres on National Highway-30, has been provided with wide roads, adequate parking, organized traffic system and modern business facilities. He said that this project is an important initiative to fulfill the long standing demand of traders.
Government’s special focus on ‘Ease of Doing Business’ and ‘Ease of Living’
The Chief Minister said that the state government is paying equal attention to ease of doing business as well as ease of living to promote trade and industry. Many reforms have been made to create a favorable environment for investors and businessmen, whose positive impact is visible in the economic progress of the state.
Housing Board is now playing a big role in infrastructure development also.
The Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh Housing and Infrastructure Development Board is no longer limited to only housing construction. The board is also rapidly progressing various infrastructure projects of the state. He said that through new working style and better management, the Board is making an important contribution in building a developed Chhattisgarh.
O.P. Choudhary said – years old dream came true
Housing and Environment Minister Shri O.P. Chaudhary said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, business infrastructure is expanding rapidly in the state. He said that the modern wholesale market which was envisioned in the year 2010 has now come true. With this, traders will get better facilities and the traffic system of Raipur city will also become more convenient.

He said that this project will give a new direction to trade, investment, employment generation and overall economic development of the state.
Modern wholesale market complex completed in two phases
The construction of Dumartarai wholesale market has been completed in two phases. In the first phase, 536 commercial shops and halls were built at a cost of about Rs 76 crore. In the second phase, 154 independent commercial shops were constructed by spending about Rs 145 crore. After completion of both the phases, the state has got the gift of a modern, well-organized and wholesale trading complex equipped with all facilities.
