New Delhi: Kia India is offering great benefits of up to Rs 40,000 on its best-selling SUV, Seltos in the month of July. The company is offering a loyalty offer of Rs 20,000 and a scrappage benefit of Rs 20,000. The ex-showroom price of Seltos starts from Rs 11 lakh and goes up to Rs 20 lakh. This car has remained Kia’s best-seller for the last two months. The company had sold 10,597 units in May and 9,654 units in June. In the Indian market, Seltos competes with vehicles like Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Highrider, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Renault Duster and MG Astor.
Strong look of new Seltos
The new Seltos is built on the global K3 platform. It is longer, wider and taller than the old model. Its wheelbase has also been extended, providing more space inside the cabin and better comfort. Kia claims that its boot space is also more than before. Major changes have also been made in the design. It has features like Telluride-inspired larger grille, taller front, new LED daytime running lights, updated headlamps, full-width LED taillamps, new 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails and dual-pane sunroof, which give the SUV a more premium look.
Premium cabin with 30 inch display
Major changes are also seen in the interior of the vehicle. Its biggest attraction is the 30-inch connected display, which houses both the infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. The new steering wheel, improved dashboard design and high-quality materials give the cabin a premium feel. Apart from this, features like dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, 10-way power adjustable driver seat with memory function, panoramic sunroof, 64-color ambient lighting, wireless charging, Type-C port in both rows and Bose sound system with eight speakers are also available.
Full emphasis on safety and connectivity
The new Seltos has 24 standard safety features, which include 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Traction Control System, 360-degree camera and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). The vehicle also has Kia Connect 2.0 system, which comes with 91 connected car features. This includes features like Wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Smart Key Proximity Unlock, Remote Operation and Live Vehicle Diagnostics.
three engine options
There have been no changes in the engine and powertrain. Seltos comes in three engine options as before – 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine. Manual, iMT, iVT and automatic gearbox options are available with these engines. In foreign markets, this car is also available with all-wheel drive and 1.6-litre hybrid powertrain, but the company has not made any announcement regarding its launch in India.
