Washington/Tehran: The gunpowder of West Asia has once again ignited. Just hours after a very shocking announcement by US President Donald Trump, US Air Force warplanes thundered the skies of Iran for the second consecutive night. These horrific attacks on Wednesday not only completely buried the interim ceasefire between the two countries last month, but have also brought the entire world to the brink of a major global energy crisis and possible war.

That one statement by Trump…and the illusion of peace was broken
The script of this bloody conflict was written just before the NATO summit to be held in Türkiye. President Donald Trump appeared before the media and said in very strong words that he feels that the agreement to stop the war with Iran is ‘over’. Trump said, “I don’t want to deal with them. I find them very dishonest people.” Soon after, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) ordered all-out attacks on Iran. The US military claims that these attacks are in retaliation for the attacks on three commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, for which Washington holds Tehran directly responsible.

Explosions echoed in Iranshahr: first death and horrifying scene.
Breaking the silence of the night, at around 12:30 there were four powerful explosions in Iranshahr, south-eastern Iran. The American missiles directly hit the airport’s flight facility building and weather station. Khalid Qadri, an innocent firefighter on duty, died tragically in this attack. Iran’s government news agency IRNA has confirmed this death. Apart from this, many major ports and military bases of Iran were reduced to rubble.

Complete map of devastation: 10 places where American missiles wreaked havoc
According to Reuters, this operation on Wednesday night was more extensive and aggressive than the first day. The US strikes targeted these 10 major strategic targets of Iran:
1. Bandar Abbas: Naval base heavily bombed
Iran’s largest commercial port and a very important naval base became the main target of American missiles. According to local reports, 8 massive explosions were heard here one after the other, after which the Iranian Army had to activate its air defense systems.
2. Iranshahr: Airport buildings razed to the ground
Four rocket attacks hit the south-eastern city, destroying significant parts of the airport. Firefighter Khalid Qadri lost his life while trying to extinguish the fire at this very place.
3. Chabahar: Marine traffic control room destroyed
The attacks on this strategic port of Iran caused heavy damage to its maritime traffic control system and a major depot. The intensity of the blasts was so high that there was complete blackout in many parts of Chabahar.

4. Bushehr province: IRGC barracks turned into debris
This area is considered to be the stronghold of Iran’s most aggressive army ‘Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC). American air strikes completely destroyed the strong IRGC barracks located here.
5. Abu Musa Island: Strategic Island in the Persian Gulf
American missiles also fell on this very sensitive and disputed island located in the Persian Gulf. Iranian state television confirmed live several massive explosions on the island.
6. Sirik: Air strike on coastal town
US fighter planes carried out a series of bombings in Iran’s southern coastal city of Sirik, due to which there is a possibility of damage to the coastal defense systems.
7. Tahruyi village: The heat of war reached rural areas
Three loud explosions back-to-back were heard near this small village located near southern Sirik, causing widespread panic among the local population.
8. Jask: Attack on Naval Energy Route
Several massive explosions were recorded in the city of Jask, located near the Gulf of Oman. This area is considered very important for Iran in terms of oil export.
9. Konarak: Blast near military airstrip
In this coastal city located near Chabahar, projectiles were fired targeting military positions, which shook the entire area.
10. Strait of Hormuz: Center of the Great War
This is the main waterway through which about 20% of the world’s total oil supply passes. Here America has laid siege to Iran by carrying out heavy military operations for two consecutive nights.

“One’s revenge for two”: Iran’s terrifying counter-preparations!
After this open aggression of America, Tehran’s attitude has become very violent and aggressive. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghai has openly accused Washington of violating international conditions. Iranian leaders have made it clear that they will not back down now. Iranian officials have warned that they would respond to any US attack ‘two-to-one’. ‘Nurnews’, a news outlet affiliated with Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has quoted military sources as claiming that Tehran has prepared a plan for a “Massive Strike” on US military bases located throughout the region. Earlier on Wednesday itself, Iran had made its intentions clear by firing missiles at American bases in Bahrain and Kuwait.
Will the world be able to withstand Iran’s ‘nuclear destroyer’ last step?
Amidst all this tension, the most frightening thing that is coming to light is the recent statement of Iran’s Parliamentary National Security Committee. Iran is now considering three such suicidal and destructive steps to bring America to its knees which can destroy the entire global system:
- Withdrawal from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT): If Iran withdraws from this treaty, it will be free to openly make a nuclear bomb.
- Changes in nuclear policy: Tehran may change its defensive nuclear policy to offensive.
- Closing the Bab-el-Mandeb and the Strait of Hormuz: About one-fifth (20%) of the world’s oil supply passes through the Strait of Hormuz. If Iran completely blocks Bab-al-Mandeb and Hormuz, the entrance to the Red Sea, the prices of petrol and diesel across the world will skyrocket and the global economy will completely collapse.

Although Trump has claimed that whatever happens will end very soon and the oil markets will be safe, the ground reality is telling something else. This powder keg of West Asia is now fully lit, and a single wrong step can push the whole world into a dark well from where there will be no return.
Will diplomacy survive now or will weapons speak?
Frequent airstrikes, warnings of retaliatory action and increasing tension on vital sea routes are making this crisis extremely sensitive. At present, the eyes of the world are fixed on the next step of America and Iran. If both sides do not move towards reducing tensions soon, West Asia could witness a conflict whose impact will be felt for a long time on global security, energy markets and international politics.
