The matter of decorating a cabin in the first AC coach of Nandigram Express of Indian Railways as a honeymoon room has now become quite heated. After the video of this cabin decorated with balloons and flowers went viral on social media, the railway administration has taken a strict stand.
Railways has suspended the concerned TC i.e. ticket checker with immediate effect on charges of ignoring the rules and being negligent in security. This action has created a stir in the railway department.
It was costly to call a private decorator.
This whole matter is of 6th July 2026, when a newly married couple traveling in train number 11002 Nandigram Express took a big step to make their journey memorable. He had hired a private decorator through online medium. This outside decorator entered the moving train and made his entire personal cabin shine like a bedroom with flowers and lamps. As soon as the video went viral, Railways considered it a very serious security lapse and immediately started a departmental inquiry.
The real controversy is not on decoration, but on entry.
Top sources of Railways have made it clear that they have no objection to passengers decorating their cabins themselves. If a person books an entire cabin, he can decorate it as per his wish, as it is not a violation of any railway law. But the main controversy in this case is over the entry of an outside decorator into the train. The administration says that entry of an outsider in a VIP coach like First AC without a valid ticket or permission is completely against the strict rules of railway safety of the country.
Next action will be taken after investigation
According to railway officials, it is a big negligence to allow an unknown person inside the VIP bogie without checking. For this reason this punitive action has been taken against the on-duty staff. The administration has clearly said that after the detailed investigation report of this entire matter, whatever facts come to light, further strict legal action will be decided accordingly.
