Baramulla MP Engineer Rashid’s big shock from court, parole application rejected in Terror Funding case

Engineer Rashid, MP from Baramulla seat in Jammu and Kashmir, has suffered a setback from Patiala House Court in the Terror Funding case. The court has rejected MP Rashid’s custody parole application. In the application on behalf of the MP, interim bail or custody parole was demanded. He sought interim bail or custody parole to participate in the Parliament session. His regular bail plea is also pending in Patiala House Court.

While dismissing the petition, Additional Sessions Judge Chandrajit Singh fixed March 19 for the decision on Rashid’s regular bail plea. The court had asked the NIA on March 3 to respond to the petition. After this, after listening to the arguments, the decision was reserved. On behalf of MP Rashid, a lawyer was applied by the famous Oberoi on 27 February.

NIA arrested in 2019

Requesting relief in this, he argued that he is a client MP and he is required to attend the upcoming session to discharge his public obligation. Let us know that Engineer Rashid was arrested by the NIA in 2019 under the illegal activities (prevention) Act in the 2017 terrorism financing case.

Explain that since Rashid was elected MP, there is a demand to transfer the allegations against him to MP/MLA court. While hearing the same case, the Special NIA court sent the case to the district judge last year, so that the case can be considered to transfer the case to the special MP/MLA court.

Bail was received for election campaign

Talk about the petition of MP Rashid in which he has expressed his desire to attend the Parliament session, in which he has said that he has not been able to participate in the session of Parliament since he was elected MP. Being an MP, he has the right to participate in the proceedings of the House. In many cases including Terror Funding, jailed engineer Rashid was granted bail from the court to campaign in Jammu and Kashmir elections. However, he had to go back to jail after the election was over.
