Why travel to Jewar Airport compared to Delhi IGI will cost expensive? , Jewar Noida International Airport Udf vs Delhi IGI Airport

Noida International Airport Udf: User development fees will have to be paid to domestic passengers at Jewar Airport and Rs 420-980 to international passengers. This fee will remain in force till March 2026, which will affect pockets compared to IGI Airport.

Jewar airport udf charges: Jewar Airport, an ambitious project in Uttar Pradesh, is named Noida International Airport (NIA), is expected to begin in winter this year. Passengers of Delhi-NCR will now get an option for a new international airport, but passengers will have to pay additional fees to fly from here. Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) has fixed the user development fees (UDF) for NIA. This fee will be Rs 210 to Rs 490 for domestic passengers and Rs 420 to Rs 980 for international passengers. This will be taxed separately.

Fee fixed for domestic and international passengers

According to Aera’s order-

  • Domestic arrival passenger: Rs 210
  • Domestic departure passenger: Rs 490
  • International arrival passenger: Rs 420
  • International departure traveler: Rs 980

This fee will be applicable till 31 March 2026. After this Aera can issue new orders.

Most domestic flights in the initial phase

The airport operator estimates that in the initial years, most of the domestic flights from the NIA will operate.

  • In the current financial year, 57 lakh domestic passengers and 2.4 lakh international passengers will travel from here.
  • By 2030, this number can reach 1.7 crore domestic and 10 lakh international passengers.

NIA construction cost and capacity

The cost of about Rs 7,209 crore is estimated on the first phase of the NIA.

  • In the first phase, the airport capacity will be 1.2 crore passengers per year (CPA).
  • In the next stages, this capacity will be transported to 3 CPA, then 5 CPA, and eventually 7 CPA.
  • As soon as the airport starts using 80% of its current capacity, the development of the next phase will begin.

What will be UDF at Jewar Airport compared to Delhi IGI Airport

Indira Gandhi International Airport of Delhi is the busiest airport in the country, which has a capacity of 10 CPA. In 2024, 7.8 crore passengers traveled here.

  • On IGI, passengers have to pay UDF from Rs 129 to Rs 810.
  • At the same time, domestic passengers will have to pay Rs 210 to 490 and international passengers from Rs 420 to Rs 980 at Jewar Airport. That is, passengers will have to pay a different fee compared to IGI to travel at Jewar Airport.

Second International Airport of NCR

Arara’s order states that NIA will be NCR’s second international airport. It will provide direct facilities to major cities like Noida, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Agra and Mathura. Also, it will also be an important gateway for pilgrimage and tourist destinations.

Comparison with Navi Mumbai Airport

Like Jewar Airport, Navi Mumbai Airport is also expected to start almost at the same time. Recently Aera has decided UDF there too. Both these airports are being counted among the largest infrastructure projects in India.
