Speaking on the Ram Mandir donation issue, Singh said, “I understand religion, Sanatan Dharma. I also understand BJP, VHP and RSS. Now my mission is only to protect religion – I will defend the faith till my last breath. There is no politics in this… I will also call Santosh Dubey ji. He is the same Kar Sevak who had four bullets in his body. He will be the chief guest (at my visit).”

Will undertake padyatra from Ujjain to Ayodhya

  • Digvijay Singh has announced a ‘non-political’ march on October 2 to protest against the alleged theft in the donations of Ram Temple. This padyatra will start from Mahakal Temple in Ujjain and will go till Ayodhya.
  • He made it clear that this march will be completely non-political and any person who has donated for the construction of Ram Temple can participate in it.

Donations taken away from Ram temple by stealing them in shoes and personal belongings

In this case, the initial investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has revealed serious lapses in security in the counting room of Ram temple in Ayodhya. The investigation said that the employees here allegedly used to hide wads of currency notes in their clothes, pockets, shoes and other personal belongings. The SIT also said that this theft was not a one-time incident, but was carried out repeatedly in a “planned” manner.

70 incidents were detected between April 27 and June 5.

According to the SIT, after examining the CCTV footage between April 27 and June 5, about 70 such suspicious incidents were detected in which counting staff were seen hiding bundles of cash. Initial investigation by SIT found flaws in the security protocols. Investigation revealed that there was no frisking of employees at the entry and exit gates of the counting hall. Also, there was no special monitoring of the personal belongings carried in and out by the employees.
