Ajay Devgan’s ‘Dhamaal 4’ is getting good response in advance booking before its release. Now all eyes are on the film’s first day opening and box office performance.
Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh and Javed Jaffrey starrer ‘Dhamaal 4’ is going to be the biggest Bollywood release of this week. The film will hit the theaters on July 10 and its advance booking figures have been revealed two days before its release. Considering the popularity of the comedy franchise, there is good enthusiasm among the audience about the film. Initial bookings have shown positive signs, however the trade believes that a strong opening will require further pickup in bookings in the next two days. In such a situation, everyone’s eyes are now on the box office performance of the first day.
How many tickets have been sold so far in advance booking of ‘Dhamal 4’?
Advance booking of ‘Dhamal 4’ has started with limited shows two days before the release. Currently, around 3,900 shows are listed across the country, while the final number is expected to reach 9,000 to 10,000 shows. By around 11:30 am on Wednesday, more than 15,400 tickets (except block seats) had been sold for the first day of the film. Through these tickets, the film has earned around Rs 37 lakh (gross) in advance booking.

Can ‘Dhamal 4’ open in double digits on the first day?
According to trade reports, the current pace is considered good, but the film will have to show more momentum in bookings before its release. It is believed that if the advance booking on the first day reaches Rs 3 to 4 crore (gross), then the film can achieve a net opening of Rs 12 to 13 crore in India. This will increase the chances of the film getting a strong start in the first weekend.
Does advance booking matter more for comedy films?
Generally, the earnings of comedy films depend more on spot ticket sales rather than advance booking. However, due to it being a successful franchise like ‘Dhamal’, better pre-sales are expected from this film. Trade believes that strong initial bookings due to brand value will also increase audience confidence. According to reports, the performance of recently released ‘Alpha’ was not as expected. In such a situation, ‘Dhamal 4’ has a chance to get more screens and better response from the audience. If the word of mouth publicity remains strong from the second day, the film may prove to be a long-haul player at the box office.
