Three children died in a tragic road accident on Ajmer Road Highway in Jaipur. On Tuesday morning, a family waiting for a bus on the roadside was crushed by an uncontrolled trailer. The parents of the children were also seriously injured in the accident.
Jaipur (Rajasthan) [भारत]July 7 (ANI): A speeding trailer hit a family near the 200 feet bypass on Ajmer Road Highway in Jaipur on Tuesday morning, killing three children and seriously injuring their parents. Police gave this information.
The incident took place between 8:45 am and 9:00 am in front of a hotel on the main Delhi-Ajmer highway, when a trailer going from Jaipur towards Ajmer allegedly went out of control. According to police, the family of five, including husband, wife and their three children, were waiting for public transport near the 200 feet bypass intersection when the trailer crushed them. After this the vehicle collided with the roadside railing.
Police gave information about the accident
Traffic police officer Puniram Meena told ANI, “The trailer was coming from the highway and hit the children standing at the bus stop. Three children died on the spot and four others, including their parents, were injured. Both the legs of the mother were broken.”
Speaking to ANI, Sodala ACP Surendra Singh of Jaipur Police Commissionerate said, “Some family members were sitting on the side of this road. A trailer came and crushed them; bodies of three children have been recovered, and two injured have been sent to the hospital.”
ACP Amin Hasan of Jaipur Traffic Police said that the victim’s family was waiting for transport at the time of the accident. “The incident occurred around 9 am. A family, consisting of husband, wife and their three children, were waiting for transport. Meanwhile, the trailer crushed them. Initial reports suggest that three children have died, while the parents have sustained serious injuries and have been hospitalised,” Hasan told ANI.
Injured were taken to hospital, bodies sent to mortuary
On receiving information, police reached the spot and took the injured to the hospital for treatment. The bodies of the three children were sent to the mortuary of Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital for post-mortem.
Due to this accident, there was a huge traffic jam on Ajmer Road. Police said further investigation into the case is underway. (ANI)
