What will be the benefit of pli certification?

Ola Electric had informed through a filing on Monday that its generation 3 scooters have received certification under the PLI scheme. This scheme of the government is to promote electric vehicles, in which companies are given economic incentives on the basis of production. Ola will now get an incentive from 13% to 18% on the sale of its scooters by 2028. This will reduce the cost of the company and increase profits.

What are the generation 3 scooters?

Ola’s generation 3 scooter is a large part of the portfolio company’s sales. It includes many models like S1 Pro, S1 X, S1 X+. These include different battery capacity variants such as 2 kwh, 3 kwh, 4 kwh and 5.2 kwh.

Apart from this, Ola Electric has recently introduced new models at its annual ‘Sankalp’ event, including S1 Pro Sport and a new high-performance scooter Radster X+, which runs with 4680 cell technology made in India. The delivery of S1 Pro Sport will start from January 2026, while the rest of the new models will be available in the market from this Navratri.

Loss declined in Q1, but revenue declines

In the first quarter of FY 2026, the company’s deficit was Rs 428 crore, which is much lower than the Rs 870 crore in the previous quarter. However, the revenue has declined and it has come to 828 crores, which is about 50% less than the previous year.
