‘Destination Tripura Business Conclave-2026’ is starting from July 9 in Tripura. Chief Minister Manik Saha said that an investment of about Rs 1 lakh crore is expected in this. Its objective is to increase employment opportunities and GSDP in the state.

Agartala (Tripura) [भारत]July 6 (ANI): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Sunday said there is a possibility of investment of around Rs 1 lakh crore in the two-day ‘Destination Tripura Business Conclave-2026’ starting from July 9, in which Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will also be present.

He said that the two-day ‘Destination Tripura Business Conclave-2026’ is going to start from July 9 at the Hapania International Fair Complex. On this occasion, a review meeting was organized under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manik Saha in the auditorium of the fair complex today.

Emphasis on increasing investment and employment

During the discussion in the meeting, the Chief Minister said that apart from increasing employment opportunities for the youth of the state, domestic and foreign investment in the state is absolutely necessary to increase the per capita income and Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP). He said, “In that regard, the importance of such a business conclave is undeniable. This is the first time that a business conclave is being organized on such a large scale in the state, which is unprecedented in this regard. The country is changing under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. From public representatives to employees, he has created a mindset to work for the welfare of the country.”

Investment target of Rs 1 lakh crore

Saha further said in the discussion that employees from all sectors in the state have worked together as ‘Team Tripura’ in organizing the G20 and NEC Plenary meetings. He said that there is a possibility of investment of about Rs 1 lakh crore in this year’s business conclave. “The concerned departments are working in this direction. There is scope for maximum investment in various projects in health, education, information technology, transport and tourism sectors,” he said.

He said MoUs for investments worth about Rs 30,000 crore were signed at last year’s business conclave. Out of this, work related to investment of Rs 8,000 crore has already started. The Chief Minister also gave suggestions to the concerned officials to make this program successful.

Chief Secretary JK Sinha, DGP Anurag, Industries and Commerce Department Secretary Kiran Gitte, MLA Meenarani Sarkar, Principal Secretary Shantanu, secretaries of various departments, directors and officers of all levels were present in the meeting.

Representatives from many countries will be involved

On this occasion, more than 20 exhibition stalls of various departments and Central Public Sector Undertakings will be set up on the theme in the International Fair complex. About 500 representatives from India and abroad are expected to be present in it. Embassies, High Commissions and counselors of various countries have been invited.

Representatives from countries like Bangladesh, Philippines, Kazakhstan, Maldives, Nepal and Uzbekistan have already confirmed their presence at the conclave. In addition, representatives from Russia and Indonesia are also interested in participating. Health, tourism, education, logistics, information technology, renewable energy, real estate, food processing as well as tea, rubber and agar based industries will be the most important sectors in this two-day conclave.
