First collect dry garden waste: Collect old vines, dry stems, weeds, dry leaves, branches left after pruning and other organic remains of vegetables at one place. If you want to keep seeds from a plant for the next season, separate them first.
Spread a layer of soil at the bottom of the container: First put a 2 to 3 inch thick layer of soil in the bottom of a large pot, drum or grow bag. This will work as a base.
Now make the ‘sandwich’: Spread a layer of garden waste over the soil. Then pour soil over it again. Similarly, make 2 to 3 layers of soil and organic waste. Fill the container about halfway or a little more.
