While reviewing the Farmer Welfare Year 2026, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav laid emphasis on reducing the cost of farming, increasing the income of farmers, digital cooperation and dairy development.

Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reviewed the programs run under Farmer Welfare Year 2026 in the Ministry on July 3. He said that the welfare of farmers is the top priority and responsibility of the state government. Activities that reduce the cost of farming and increase the income of farmers should be implemented on priority basis. For this purpose, the year 2026 has been declared as Farmer Welfare Year.

The Chief Minister directed that all schemes and programs run in the interest of farmers should be implemented in mission mode. Also, special programs should be organized to establish direct communication with the farmers from the capital to the village level.

Special emphasis on dairy development and improved breed of cows to increase the income of farmers.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that milk production along with agriculture can become an effective means of increasing the income of farmers. For this, cooperation of private institutions should also be taken in providing improved breed of cows to the farmers. He directed that centers related to dairy development should be expanded in rural areas so that more and more farmers can earn additional income by joining this sector.

Focus will be on adopting low water crops, natural farming and crop rotation.

The Chief Minister told the officials that farmers should be made aware about the crops which require less water and are of short duration. He directed to run a comprehensive public awareness campaign to promote change in crop rotation, natural farming and organic farming. He said that regular communication should be established with the farmers as per the local festivals and crop cycles related to farming so that modern agricultural techniques can be easily adopted.

Cooperative societies will be digitalized, online KCC portal and e-passbook will start soon

The Chief Minister said that keeping in mind the convenience of the farmers, the entire process of cooperative societies should be digitalized. It was informed in the meeting that online Kisan Credit Card (KCC) portal and e-passbook facility for farmers will be started in the month of July. Along with this, a state level cooperative conference will be organized.

A state level program will be organized in Ujjain to honor the field workers and cattle herders doing excellent work. Apart from this, Balram Krishi Mahotsav will be organized in all the districts of the state and food festivals will be organized at all the divisional headquarters.

Many big events including Vegetable Festival in Indore, Fisheries and Poultry Conference in Jabalpur

It was informed in the meeting that many state level programs are proposed to promote agriculture and allied sectors in different districts of the state. Cotton and Chilli Festival will be organized in Khargone along with the state level farmers conference. Inland fisheries and aquaculture program and poultry farmers and entrepreneurs conference will be held in Jabalpur.

Similarly, plans have been made to organize Banana Festival in Burhanpur, Workshop on Hi-Tech Nursery and Protected Farming in Ujjain, Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) State Level Conference in Sagar and Ratlam, Workshop on Modern Technologies of Horticulture in Neemuch, Vegetable Festival and Aquaculture Marketing Symposium in Indore, Stubble Management Workshop in Bhopal and State Level Farmers Conference along with Sugarcane Festival in Narsinghpur.

Madhya Pradesh government will work on mission mode in the interest of farmers

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav clarified that Kisan Kalyan Varsh is not just a campaign but a comprehensive mission to strengthen the economic condition of farmers. The state government will continuously work to make farming profitable, promote modern technologies, expand digital services and develop new sources of agriculture-based income. This will provide more facilities to the farmers and will give new strength to the agricultural economy of the state.
