Three people traveling in a car who were going to attend a wedding ceremony in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh, became victims of an accident due to Google Map. In the accident, their car fell off the bridge and all three died. After this accident, it was alleged that the incomplete route was being shown as complete on Google Map, due to which three people lost their lives. Now officials in Bareilly as well as other districts are collecting information about such incomplete bridges.
After the Bareilly accident, Auraiya district administration has also woken up. Information about incomplete bridges has been taken from the PWD department by District Magistrate Indramani Tripathi. On enquiry, it was found that the bridge of Sengur river on Auraiya-Phaphund road is incomplete, but it is shown as complete in Google. Expressing his displeasure over this, the DM asked to block the road by building a wall on the incomplete bridge.
Incomplete bridge built on Auraiya-Phaphund road
District Magistrate Indramani Tripathi has constructed a wall on the incomplete river bridge on the Auraiya-Phaphund road and has also indicated the way, so that no major accident of any kind can happen. Its improvement was also done on Google Map. That incomplete bridge is now showing as incomplete on Google. The District Magistrate said that a wall was also built there which is shown equally on the map.
DM had inspected the bridge
District Magistrate Indramani Tripathi said that this bridge has been built on Auraiya-Paphund road. It is still incomplete at two to three places. In view of the incident in Bareilly, information was sought from PWD and inspection was also done. There we have made a retaining wall closed ball. A sign has also been put up that the road ahead is blocked. Please go to the side. Earlier it was showing directly on Google, but now it has been marked.
