In Rajasthan, claims are made to provide good education to girls and it is said to provide resources to girls, but with the change of government, the schemes remain in vain. The competition to show one’s face to the leaders becomes the cause of loss for the government. A similar case came to light from Chittorgarh, where the bags distributed to the girls studying in the school got spoiled while in storage. Even the department officials have not been able to find a solution to the problem of this bag for 16 years.
In the last phase of the tenure of Vasundhara Raje Scindia’s BJP government in the state from 2003 to 2008, school bags were to be distributed to the girls studying in government schools. Under this scheme, more than 22,000 bags reached Chittorgarh district for distribution. According to information received from sources, this was a state-wide program under which approximately Rs 22 crore was spent. Supplies were given by different contractors in different districts.
In some districts of Rajasthan, the distribution was done due to timely supply, but in the meantime, due to the assembly elections in the state, the code of conduct came into force and these bags sent by the government had the photo of the then Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia and the code of conduct was printed on them. Due to rules, their distribution was stopped and they were kept in the building of Kasturba Residential School Type One of Gangrar subdivision and sealed.
Officials did not get any answer
After that, Ashok Gehlot’s government came to power in Rajasthan and the bags with the photo of the previous Chief Minister remained lying in a closed room, as a result of which these bags got completely spoiled. Vasundhara Raje Scindia again became the Chief Minister in 2013, but the government did not issue any guidelines regarding these bags. The officials kept writing letter after letter and then the government changed. Now the situation is such that these bags costing lakhs of rupees, which could have been useful to the girls, have been completely spoiled only because of the competition to show the faces of the leaders.
The situation in Kasturba Residential School is such that an entire room which can be used for the study of the girl students of this school, is lying sealed. These bags made of soil have become a problem between the election rules and the education department. Animals are thriving in this closed room, which are also harmful for the girls living in the residential school. The government has changed, officials have changed, yet the situation is not changing.
What happens to the bags that have become junk?
Now the officials of the department are waiting for instructions from the Secondary Education Council, which had given the tender for getting these printed and distributed, but it is clearly clear that if there is a loss in this whole matter, then it will be to the state treasury of the state government. , from whom it was paid for and the students who could benefit from it. At present the problem remains as to how to dispose of this junk so that the school room can be used.
There were mistakes of both Congress-BJP governments – Pratap Singh Khachariyawas
On this matter, Congress leader Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said that it is unfortunate that children have not been able to get bags for so many years. Meanwhile, Congress and BJP governments came to power. I believe that the mistakes of Congress and BJP governments were due to which children were deprived of school bags. Now there is Bhajanlal government of BJP in Rajasthan. This mistake should be corrected. If there is a problem with the photo of the then Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje in the bag, then new bags should be given to the government. BJP should not have any problem with Vasundhara Raje.
