The thrill of the Super Over is visible again. This time it has been seen in the world’s newest T20 league. The thrill has been such that you will not be able to forget. We are talking about the Global Super League which started on the soil of West Indies, in which a total of 5 teams including CPL, PSL, BPL and England’s T20 team are playing. The second match of the league, which started from 26th November, was played on 27th November, in which the excitement of the Super Over was visible. This match was between Rangpur Riders and Hampshire.
Both teams scored 132-132 runs
In the match, Hampshire won the toss and were all out after scoring 132 runs in 20 overs. In reply, Rangpur Riders were not all out but they also could not score more than 132 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. And, thus missed the target of 133 runs. Now the score is equal, which means the match is tied, which was decided by Super Over.
What happened in the super over?
Rangpur Riders batted first in the Super Over. Chris Wood, who came to bowl for Hampshire, gave singles on the first two balls. After that he was hit for a six on the third ball. Singles were made again on the 4th and 5th balls. Whereas the batsmen of Rangpur Riders were run out while trying to score the third run on the sixth i.e. the last ball. The wicket fell but 2 runs came on the last ball also. In this way Rangpur Riders scored 12 runs in the super over.
Now Hampshire had to score 13 runs in the super over to win. Rangpur Riders bowler Jack Chappell was hit for a six on the first ball. But he recovered by taking the wicket of James Fuller on the very next ball. After this, singles came on the next 2 balls. And Dowson won the match again by hitting a six on the last ball. In this way, an exciting end to the match was seen, where Hampshire won the match against Rangpur Riders in the Super Open.
