Shubman Gill could not play the Perth Test. It was expected that he could make a comeback in the second Test, which will be played with pink ball in Adelaide. But, after the doctor’s words, now there is suspense on his playing in that too. Shubman Gill was injured during practice before the start of the Perth Test. The finger of his hand was injured. Times of India, quoting sources, has given an update on Gill’s injury, in which there is a possibility of him not playing in the second test.
Out of practice match, suspense on playing second test
The second Test between India and Australia will be played in Adelaide from December 6 to December 10. This match will be day-night i.e. the game will be played with pink ball. Amidst the suspense over playing the second test after the doctor’s advice, Gill has now been confirmed not to play even in the two-day practice match. The Indian team has to play a two-day practice match in Canberra, which will be played with pink ball.
Doctor advised Gill to rest
Quoting sources, TOI wrote that Shubman Gill has been advised by the doctor to take complete rest for 10 to 14 days. Meaning he will not play in the practice match. Apart from this, there is suspense over his appearance in the second test also. Sources said that before that we would like to see the recovery of his injury. How are they feeling? Even if he recovers, it seems that he will need practice before entering the Test match.
Recently, former Mumbai cricketer and Indian team selector Jatin Paranjpe had also said that Gill’s injury is such that the player may have to stay out of 2-3 Tests.
No discussion on sending Shami to Australia
Regarding Shami, sources told TOI that there is no discussion of sending him to Australia as of now. There has been no discussion regarding this, Shami is currently playing in the Syam Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
India has a 1-0 lead in the 5-Test series against Australia. He won the first test by 295 runs.
