A big statement has come out from Asia’s second richest businessman Gautam Adani and his company Adani Green Energy in the American bribery case. Adani Green Energy has said in its stock market filings on Wednesday that the news of bribery allegations leveled against it are false and baseless. Dunn said that the news of being charged under the US Federal Corruption Practices Act is completely wrong.
The group has clarified that there is no case of violation of the US Federal Corruption Practices Act against Gautam Adani, Sagar Adani and Vineet Jain in the US DOJ prosecution or US SEC complaint. On the other hand, senior lawyer Mukul Rohatgi also came in favor of Adani and threw light on this matter. Let us also tell you what has been said by Adani Group.
Adani Green’s statement came
Adani Group company Adani Green, while giving information in its exchange filing, said that there is no bribery allegation against Gautam Adani, Sagar Adani or Vineet Jain. The company has said in its filing that in the prosecution of the US Justice Department, only Azure and CDPQ officials have been accused of bribery. On behalf of the company, it has been said that the reports of bribery and corruption allegations against the Adani Group company and its officials are completely false.
In fact, during the hearing, the Federal Court of New York has accused Gautam Adani’s company of defrauding American investors and bribing Indian officials to get solar energy contracts. The allegations made by the Federal Court state that between 2020 and 2024, bribes worth $265 million were paid to Indian officials through wrong routes to get solar projects.
The court has also alleged that the matter of bribery was hidden from the American company Azure Power Global. The special thing is that from this contract, a profit of about Rs 17 thousand crore was estimated in 20 years. To take advantage of this, bonds and loans were taken on false claims. After which Adani Group had declared all these allegations wrong.
Mukul Rohatgi’s statement also came
The special thing is that the country’s former Attorney General and senior lawyer Mukul Rohatgi has also come forward in this matter. Mukul Rohatgi said in a press conference that he has not come forward as the spokesperson of Adapani Group. He said that this prosecution includes 5 charges, of which Section 1 and 5 are the most important. No allegations have been made against Gautam Adani and Sagar Adani in these cases. He further said that there are no Corruption Practices Act charges against Gautam Adani and Sagar Adani. Those under Section 5 do not include the names of these two, but of some foreign people.
According to the senior lawyer, it has to be made clear in the charge sheet as to what the person has done. He said that the kind of allegations that have been leveled against Adani, there is not even a single name in the charge sheet. Nor has any information been given as to how the bribe was given and to which officials the bribe was given. Adani Group has to prove whether they are associated with the companies against whom allegations have been made in the charge sheet or not.
