A video from Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In this video, a groom wearing coat, pants and a garland of currency notes around his neck climbs onto a loader and then enters the window in filmy style while performing a stunt. He takes the driver off the loader in the middle of the road and beats him indiscriminately. This entire video is being told of the incident that took place on National Highway 58 in Partapur police station area of Meerut.
Actually, on November 23, the groom Pankaj was returning from the village with his family after performing puja, when on the way the side of the groom’s car was hit by a loader. After which an altercation started between the two. Groom Pankaj told that my marriage was on 23rd November. After performing puja from the village, he was coming towards the highway along with some women and other persons. Just then, while crossing the road, the loader (small elephant) was coming at a speed of about 70. When I signaled him to stop, he reduced his speed and tried to snatch the garland. The groom further told that as soon as she tried to snatch the garland, he hung on her car and tried to beat her. The groom also alleged that he tried to steal the garland and also harassed the mothers and sisters.
The groom beat the driver
On the other hand, the driver of the loader said that my name is Jagpal and the one who is being beaten in the video is me. The driver said that he was going to Ghaziabad after loading goods from Meerut. My car was at a speed of about 55. These people were coming from the footpath. Suddenly these people came in front of the car. My brakes hit right in front of them. Meanwhile they broke my glass and started beating me. The driver further told that due to fear, I ran away from there and they came chasing me on a motorcycle and got into my car. After which he beat me badly and broke my shoulder.
Police is taking action
At present the police have recorded the statements of both. Giving information about the incident, the driver has lodged a complaint of assault in the police station against the groom and the people accompanying him. The police called both the parties to the police station and took information from both of them about the incident. The driver says I have complained and we want justice.
