This scooter has come out just a day before the launch of Honda Activa EV, which is bringing the option of swappable battery in its scooter. Ola Electric has called this range its ‘Gig Workers’ range. Gig-workers are those people who work as delivery boys for apps like Zomato, Swiggy, Zepto, Big Basket, Amazon, Flipkart in the country. Announcing the launch of this scooter, Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal said in a tweet on ‘X’ that this electric scooter will be affordable and accessible. It will also come with a portable battery pack. It will be charged on ‘Ola Power Pod’, which will also work as an inverter for the home.
The company has started booking these scooters and their delivery will start from April 2025. The company has kept the booking price for these at only Rs 499. A total of 4 scooters will be available in this entire range. These include Ola Gig, Ola Gig+, Ola S1 Z and Ola S1 Z+. Their price will start from Rs 39,999 and will go up to Rs 64,999.
Apart from the strong frame, the company has also provided high load capacity, storage space, large leg space and customization options in these scooters designed keeping the gig workers in mind.
