But, there is one player for whom RCB was so lucky to buy him in the auction that now he is going to debut for the country’s Test team. We are talking. RCB’s Jacob Bethel, who is going to debut for England in the Test against New Zealand.
RCB bought, got a chance in the country’s test team
21-year-old England all-rounder Jacob Bethel had entered the IPL 2025 auction with a base price of Rs 1.25 crore. And, RCB bought him for 2.60 crores. Punjab Kings had also bid to buy Jacob but in the end the win went to RCB. In a way, Royal Challengers Bangalore have benefited from the addition of this English player as their strength has increased. Jacob himself got a chance to play Test for the country the very next day of the auction.
Jacob will debut in Christchurch
The Test series between England and New Zealand is starting from 28th November. A 3-Test series will be played between the two countries, the first match of which will be held in Christchurch. Jacob Bethel, who is going to debut in the first Test, has previously made ODI and T20 debut for England. If we look at his first class record, he has played only 20 matches, in which apart from scoring 738 runs, he has taken 7 wickets.
