The party’s national meeting was held under the chairmanship of Mamata Banerjee on Monday.Three disciplinary committees have been formed in the executive meeting, while the party’s general secretary and his nephew MP Abhishek Banerjee has been made the national spokesperson. He has been given the responsibility of deciding the party’s policy at the national level. He will present the party’s opinion on national level issues. There itself,MPs Saugata Roy and Sukhendu Shekhar Roy were sidelined. He has not been made a member of any committee.

Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee, Minister of State Manas Bhuyan, Party MP Kalyan Banerjee, MP Mala Roy and Javed Khan has been included in the National Executive. This is the all-powerful working committee of the party.

The stature of party MP and Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee has increased further in the party. He will also serve as the official spokesperson on national affairs. His appointment highlights the party’s focus on enhancing its national presence and making him the face of the party at the national level.
