Team India has made a great start in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy by defeating Australia by 295 runs in the Perth Test. After being bundled out for only 150 runs in the very first match, Team India made a comeback with a bang and gave Australia a target of 534 runs to win. Then on the fourth day itself, it won the match by bowling out Australia for 238 runs and took the lead in the series. The stories of this victory of Team India will be told for many years to come, especially captain Jasprit Bumrah will always be discussed. But whom would Bumrah himself want to tell about this victory?
Team India registered this historic victory on Monday 25th November at Optus Stadium. After defeating Australia on the fourth day of the match, captain Jasprit Bumrah spoke to the media, where apart from the team’s performance, he was also asked some special questions. One such question was raised regarding his little son Angad, who was with his mother and Bumrah’s wife Sanjana Ganesan in the stadium during this match.
‘I will tell stories to my son’
Jasprit Bumrah, who was the star of Team India’s victory, was asked whether he would narrate the story of this victory to his son. On this, the Indian pacer gave a very straightforward answer and explained that right now his son is too young to understand all these things but when he grows up, he will tell him many stories. Bumrah told that his son had also come during the T20 World Cup but he is too young to understand all these things and hence when he grows up, he will tell him all the stories.
Bumrah was the hero of Perth
Bumrah already has many stories to tell about his amazing performances. Be it the ODI World Cup last year or the T20 World Cup this year, or the performances that made Team India win Test matches from Lord’s to Johannesburg, Bumrah has a whole box of stories to tell. Nevertheless, Perth will be very special for him because here, being the captain of Team India, he not only won, but also destroyed the Australian batting on his own. Bumrah took 5 wickets in the first innings and then took 3 wickets in the second innings as well, which included Travis Head who had scored 89 runs.
