The Supreme Court on Monday stayed the murder trial while hearing the death of former Delhi civil defense worker Rabia Saifi. The court has summoned Delhi Government, Haryana Government and Central Bureau of Investigation in the matter and sought answers. In fact, the victim’s father had filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding that an independent investigation is not being conducted in the case of his daughter’s murder.
The victim’s father alleged that his daughter was murdered to suppress a corruption case and was part of a larger conspiracy. He also alleged that the correct report was not presented to the Supreme Court. The case will be heard by Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Prasanna B. Barale’s back did.
August 2021 event
The body of Rabia, a civil defense worker in Delhi, was found on the roadside near Surajkund in Faridabad on 26 August 2021. In this case, a person surrendered taking responsibility for the murder. He claimed to be Rabia’s husband.
But Rabiya’s family denied that she was married, saying that she was murdered not by one person but by many people. This incident shook the city. After the death, protests were held at many places in the city.

Rabia was murdered in a very brutal manner. The postmortem report revealed that he had been stabbed repeatedly. There were marks all over his face. Even many parts of his body were cut and private parts were brutally crushed.
Nizamuddin, the person who murdered Rabia, had claimed that he was married to Rabia. While confessing to the murder, he said that he suspected that Rabiya was having an illicit relationship with a person who worked with him, hence he murdered her. The accused had told that he had taken the victim to Surajkund for a visit and murdered her there.
