Instead of stopping, the case of molestation and assault of a girl in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh is getting deeper. In the same case, people of another community attacked the house of a Hindu woman in Mehermati Ganeshpur village of Sardhana police station area on Sunday. During this time, four members of the family including the woman were seriously injured. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and chased away the accused with batons. In this regard, the police have registered a case against more than one and a half dozen people.
The victim woman told in her statement to the police that she was making cow dung cakes on Sunday morning. During this time, a youth from another community molested her. When she protested, the accused abused her. On receiving information about the increasing dispute, the police reached the spot and pacified both the parties. It is alleged that shortly after the police returned, the accused youth called some outsiders and attacked the woman’s house.
FIR lodged against 19 people
The accused brandished sticks and it is alleged that they also fired shots during this period. Apart from the girl, four people including her brother and father have been seriously injured in this incident. Many videos of this attack have also gone viral on social media. In this, people are clearly seen firing and beating each other. Considering the current situation, the police have registered a case against 19 people on the complaint of the victim.
There was a dispute regarding the plot
According to the police, one of the accused has also been arrested. The police are continuously raiding in search of the others. According to SP Dehat Rakesh Kumar Mishra, the situation in the village is currently under control and adequate number of police forces have been deployed in the village while appealing to the people to maintain peace. He told that the plots of both the parties are nearby and there was a fight between them regarding the boundary of these plots. The police are currently investigating the matter.
