Talking about personal life, Roopa married Dhrubo Mukherjee, a mechanical engineer from West Bengal, in 1992. They have a son, Akash Mukherjee, who was born in 1997. Later news came that she was in a live-in relationship with Bengali singer Divyendu Mukherjee.
