The uproar that started over the survey of Jama Masjid in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh is not showing signs of stopping. So far 3 people have died. CO Sadar and SP Sambhal’s PRO have been shot. More than three dozen people, including more than 25 police personnel, are injured. In view of the situation, the district administration has stopped internet services for 24 hours. Orders have been given to keep schools up to class 8 closed. DM Dr. Rajendra Pansia has issued an order in this regard. The area around the mosque has been sealed. Police forces have been deployed in the entire area.
According to official sources, more than 25 policemen have been injured in this violence. All of them have been admitted to the hospital, where the condition of one policeman is critical. On the other hand, three youths involved in the crowd have died. According to the police, two of these youths died due to bullet injuries. The third person died due to injuries sustained in the stampede. After the video of this incident surfaced, the police identified the unruly elements and arrested more than 15 people including two women. The police is interrogating all of them.

According to Moradabad Divisional Commissioner Anjaneya Kumar Singh, the team had reached Jama Masjid for survey at 7 in the morning. After this, within no time a large crowd gathered there. Meanwhile, unruly elements coming from different directions started creating ruckus. People started pelting stones and firing. Considering the situation, the police party present at the spot used mild force. During this, tear gas shells were fired and pellet guns were used. He told that this incident was carried out as part of a conspiracy. The anarchist elements had already made preparations for this.

He said that during the violence, two people died in firing from unruly elements. While CO Sadar Anuj Chaudhary and PRO of SP Sambhal were shot in the leg. Similarly, more than 25 other policemen were injured. He told that despite the violence outside the mosque, the survey work inside was completed and at 10 o’clock the survey team was safely evacuated from here and taken to their place. According to SP KK Bishnoi, the only purpose of violence during the survey was to not allow the survey to be conducted under any circumstances.

He told that anarchist elements have carried out this violence by targeting 12-14 year old children and women.
Officers are camping in Sambhal
In view of the situation, Divisional Commissioner Moradabad, DIG Moradabad, ADG Bareilly and other senior officers are camping in Sambhal. Security forces conducted a flag march in the area around the mosque late at night. According to DM Sambhal, people have been asked to stay away from rumors by shutting down internet services in the district. He told that at present the situation is under control. On the other hand, SP Sambhal said that a massive raid is being conducted to identify and arrest the people involved in this violence.
