IPL Mega Auction: The mega auction of IPL 2025 season has started in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The fate of 577 players is to be decided in this auction which will last for the next 2 days. This auction is being held in Saudi Arabia for the first time and hence there is a different curiosity about it. All 10 franchises are taking the first step towards preparing their squads for the next 3 seasons in this auction. This time the auction purse has also increased, so all the teams have more money to spend. Its effect was also visible in the auction, where Rishabh Pant became the most expensive player with a bid of Rs 27 crore. He was bought by Lucknow Super Giants.
There was also a surprising bid on Shreyas Iyer. Punjab Kings spent a huge amount of Rs 26.75 crore for Iyer, the captain who won the title for Kolkata Knight Riders. Before Pant went to LSG, Iyer had made the record of being the most expensive player but this record was broken within minutes due to Pant’s bid.
